Hey. I’m new here. I’m looking for opinions/critiques on my crane folding instructions and diagram. Here is a link to the instructions/diagram:

I’m looking to help clarify the written instructions.
I’m starting a project involving paper cranes, that the instructions will be used for. Here is a link to the flickr group of the project, http://www.flickr.com/groups/zen_reconstructed/
Would be great if you were to join in the project!
Thanks!

Your drawn diagrams look great, but they’re a little hard to follow… of course that opinion might be biased since I’m used to standard origami symbols, and you’re not using standard symbols… the arrows you’re using are a little different and you’re skipping some steps when showing the “x2”
Maybe you could make the numbers of the steps on the diagram stand out a little more by circling them or something. The “x2” is a little confusing at first.
Also in the first step you A,B,C,D to label the corners, and refer to the letters in your written directions but don’t use them again in the diagram. Might be helpful if you put them in the diagram on some of the other steps.
Very cool concept, I’ll get around to joining your flickr group when I take some better pics of paper cranes. Keep us posted with your updated directions.
I wanted to make a set of instructions that someone with no prior knowledge of origami (or it’s classic instructions), could pick up and follow along without help from me, or anyone else. I also wanted to make them look a certain way, so that could be part of it.
I revised the instructions and diagram a bit, here’s the updated version:

Let me know if those are any better!
Thanks.
